Teaching as a profession has undergone a sea change in the last few decades, not just in Delhi, but also other parts of the world. Unchecked growth of materialism, social media explosion and degradation of the environment have brought humanity at cross roads. It becomes imperative that education also takes the onus of tackling these challenges and create a win-win situation for all. Teachers on their part are being hailed as change makers with super powers, who can usher in a new world.

वैसे तो बहुत से शिक्षाविदों ने ऐसी मान्यताओं को तार्किक आधार पर सिरे से खारिज किया है जो बच्चों को महज कोरा कागज़ समझती हैं या फिर गीली मिट्टी, जिस पर शिक्षकों, अभिभावकों और बड़ों के द्वारा जो भी लिखा जाएगा वही अंकित होगा। वह जैसे ढाले जाएँगे उसी तरह ढल जाएँगे। इसमें स्वयं उनके प्रयासों, अवलोकनों, अंतर्निहित क्षमताओं या सहज रूप से उपलब्ध परिवेश की भूमिका गौण ही रहेगी। आज भी कमोबेश हमारी शिक्षा व्यवस्था में यही समझ प्रभावी बनी हुई है। स्कूल किताबों को अंतिम ज्ञान मान उसी को रटाने के प्रयास में जुटे हैं।

“I am disappointed and in dilemma what should I do”

 (A case to understand why outstanding candidate won’t join the profession of teaching)

I received this message on Twitter from an unknown person.

“Hello sir

I am **** currently working as an assistant section officer in ****. I have been selected for tgt maths in **** Delhi govt school for which document verification process is on **sep2020. Now as I discussed it with many teachers of ****they advised me not to join school quoting following problems 

किसी कक्षा में एक शिक्षक क्या करे और क्या न करे इस विषय पर काफी कुछ कहा और लिखा जा चुका है। कई बार तो इन मुद्दों पर सीख देने वालों में वे लोग भी शामिल होते हैं जिनका इस क्षेत्र से कोई लेना-देना ही नहीं होता या फिर बहुत कम जानकारी होती है। स्कूलों में होने वाले निरीक्षणों का तो जैसे यह अनिवार्य और प्रिय मुद्दा हो। कोई शिक्षक थोड़ी भी अनचाही स्थिति में मिला नहीं कि शिक्षा अधिकारी उस पर पूरे रौब से टूट पड़ते हैं। उसे दी जाने वाली सीख अक्सर इस बात पर होती है कि वे जो कर रहे थे वह गलत है, पर सही तरीका क्या है और कैसे किया जा सकता है इस मसले पर ज्यादातर कुछ नहीं कहा जात

My daughter is in kg F class…

Vedika teaches at a private school in Noida. Since the beginning of the lockdown, her salary got reduced and also gets delayed often. At least she is happy that she is able to retain her job. Every month, the first few days, she spends in great anxiety. She doesn’t have any saving. Along with her husband, she took a home loan two years back. And she is completely dependent on her salary to make the ends meet. Above all, her financial independence corresponds to her personal independence and she doesn’t want to lose it.

शिक्षकों  के गैर पेशेवर पहचान को बढ़ावा देती नई शिक्षा नीति।

स्वतंत्र भारत के करीब-करीब 75 सालों के इतिहास में अभी तक तीन बार शिक्षा नीति बनाई गई हैl 1968,1986( संशोधित रूप में 1992) और अब 2020, निश्चित ही शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में ये महत्वपूर्ण नीतिगत दस्तावेज है। शिक्षा नीति किसी भी देश में शिक्षा की दिशा और दशा तय करती है। किसी भी नीति में कुछ अच्छे और कुछ बुरे प्रावधान हो सकते हैं लेकिन अच्छे और बुरे प्रावधानों से नीति की व्याख्या नहीं की जा सकती है। नीति की व्याख्या वह कौन सी दिशा तय करती है,इस संदर्भ में करना होता है।

शिव प्रकाश नींद में कुछ  जोर जोर से बोल रहा था, बगल में लेटी उसकी पत्नी, अनुप्रिया, झटपट मोबइल ऑन करती है और शिव प्रकाश क्या बोल रहा है उसको रिकॉर्ड करने लगती है। क्या पता कुछ राज की बात पता चल जाए। आदमी कई बार नींद में ऐसी बातें बोलने लगता है जो वह जगे हुए में नहीं बोल पाता है।
